Nurse Secretary Full-Time

Sutton Park Center for Nursing has an opening for a Nurse Secretary

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (Including but not limited to):

• Performs administrative duties for the nursing department
• Answers phones and verbally communicates effectively, responding promptly to general information, requesting and conveying messages as necessary.
• Calls physicians’ offices to schedule patient appointments as necessary in a timely fashion.
• Communicates with family members as necessary for upcoming patient appointments.
• Arranges transportation for patients to and from Dr. appointments.
• Participates in maintaining complete and accurate patient medical charts.
• Places calls to physicians’ offices and to other departments as requested by the charge nurse.
• Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to patients’ rights and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Maintains effective and timely communication with nurses, other staff, patients and family members.
• Keeps nurses’ station clean and clutter-free.
• Maintains cooperative working relationships and supports staff in the performance of their duties.
• Communicates any problems or concerns to the Nursing Manager in a timely fashion.
• Helps to maintains a safe environment for patients and staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to multi-task effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills required.

EXPERIENCE:

Some computer skills needed
Will train the right applicant
